Why did you choose to study at UCL SSEES?
Studying here offers a rare chance to explore the rich cultural and artistic dimensions of SSEES regions, including languages, literature and even cinematography. Such a comprehensive experience is truly unattainable anywhere else.

What attracted you to this particular course?
I enjoy exploring economics as a social science. Studying economics with history and politics adds another layer of excitement. The complexity of social sciences makes them a world unto themselves.

Any favourite modules so far?
My favourite module so far is economic history and ideas. This module has allowed me to foster a deep appreciation for the complexities of economic systems, and the interplay between history and modern economic decisions.

How would you describe the academic staff at SSEES? What is the support like?
The academic staff are very welcoming and supportive. Assistance is offered during office hours or you could simply go to them in the lecture breaks. Detailed answers and explanations are provided in time for any questions from students.

What are the facilities like at SSEES and the UCL campus generally?
SSEES has a massive library where course textbooks, supporting readings, audio and even chronicles can be found. This is extremely helpful with writing our coursework and brainstorming dissertation topics. UCL has even more libraries to discover books of different disciplines.

What about the social life?
The Student Union social life is very vibrant and diverse with a mix of clubs and societies and seasonal university events. I find the language clubs particularly enriching as they allow me to learn more about different cultures.

Where do you hope your degree will take you after graduation?
I aspire to pursue an academic career in Economics following graduation, and I hope that my degree will equip me with a strong foundation in economic theories to later develop ideas of my own in this field.

Any advice for those thinking about taking this course?
Manage your time efficiently, engage with professors, make lasting connections and reflect on your goals on a regular basis. Enjoy every minute of the incredible three years here at SSEES!
