Victor and Rita Swoboda Memorial Scholarship

Founded in memory of Dr Viktor Swoboda, former Senior Lecturer at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies, and his wife, Rita Swoboda.

1. One scholarship will be awarded each session, known as the Viktor and Rita Swoboda Memorial Scholarship.

2. The scholarship is awarded on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Slavonic and East European Studies.

3. The scholarship is awarded to outstanding PhD applicants in the field of Ukrainian studies.

4. Consideration will be given to applicant students’ academic profile and research proposal.

5. The total value of the scholarship is £30,000, awarded in equal thirds per year as a stipend, tuition fee waiver, or both.

6. The qualifications of candidates are considered by the Research Committee.

7. The College reserves the right to vary these regulations should it become necessary to do so in order to ensure the continued use of the resources of the fund.

8. Awards are subject to the provision of the General Regulations.
