Working title of thesis: Minorities and Power: The democratic representation of the Russian-speakers in Estonia and Latvia.
Research: My research deals with the political representation of Russian-speaking minorities in Latvia and Estonia. I investigate the minority’s substantive representation through the comparative analysis of specific policy-making processes at the state level and at the level of the two capital cities. My research contributes to the academic debate on ethnic politics and minority representation, proposing a focus on issues of power distribution and quality of democracy.
