Biography

Dr Ramesh was awarded a PhD in Economics by SOAS, University of London in 2009, becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy in 2013. At SOAS Dr Ramesh taught undergraduate and postgraduate students. In 2010, Dr Ramesh was appointed as a Teaching Fellow in Economics at University College London. At the same time, Dr Ramesh began working for the University of Oxford’s Department for Continuing Education, developing and teaching several online courses, including ‘Macroeconomics – An Introduction’, ‘Microeconomics – An Introduction’ and ‘History of Economic Thought’, and summer school courses at the Oxford University Summer School for Adults. Dr Ramesh has also taught at Kings College London and at the Universite Paris Dauphine GBD in London. His book ‘China’s Lessons for India’, Volume 1: Political Economy of Development and Volume 2: Political Economy of Change was published by Palgrave MacMillan in October 2017, ‘The Rise of Empires – The Political Economy of Innovation’ in February 2019; and 'China's Economic Rise: Lessons from Japan's Political Economy' in October 2020.
