17 January 2023

Five SSEES students have been selected as Young European Ambassadors (YEAs) as part of the EU Neighbours East initiative

Freya and Nadia

Five SSEES students from a variety of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes have been selected as Young European Ambassadors for the EU Neighbours East initiative.

Freya Proudman (MA Comparative Russian and Eurasian Politics) and Nadia Golotchoglou (BA Politics and Sociology) were re-selected as Ambassadors for a second and third year respectively, while the new intake saw three more SSEES students join the initiative:

  • Antoine Korchagin - BA History, Politics and Economics
  • Anna Romanovská - MRes in East European Studies
  • Emma Bain - BA Russian Studies (graduated 2021)

The Young European Ambassadors form a non-political, voluntary, vibrant communication network connecting and building bridges of friendship among young people from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, the Republic of Moldova, Ukraine and the EU Member States and the United Kingdom. The aim of the network is to raise awareness about the EU’s cooperation with its Eastern partner countries.

Congratulations to our students!
