SSEES students receiving awards

At the end of the academic year 2022-23, SSEES students received various awards. We are extremely proud of their achievements

Freya Proudman, SSEES Society President, won the Academic Rep of the Year Award for Arts & Humanities for her tireless & selfless efforts in organizing the SSEES Society’s humanitarian aid response to the war in Ukraine and her work with the SSCC.

The UCL SSEES Society was shortlisted for Best Departmental Society and Charity Fundraising Society of the Year. Furthermore, 4 Individual Members of the SSEES Society were nominated for individual awards for exemplary service to Student Activities - Alina Vrabie (current VP- will be next year's President), Jack Dean (current Postgrad Rep), Konstantin Dilchev (current First Year Rep), and Jina Nam (current Welfare Officer- will be next year's VP). The UCL Student's Union recognised the Society and it was honoured to receive the Gold Award of £1,500. This will be put towards delivering more social, cultural, professional and volunteering events for SSEES students. The SSEES Society would like to thank all members, students, SSEES staff and anyone who has supported them in their efforts to help Ukraine.

Jack Dean, Postgraduate Officer of the SSEES Society, was selected as one of the UCL Student Union's Class of 2022 for his work with the Society over the past year. Watch a summary and his take on what was this year like for the SSEES Society.

The UCL Ukrainian Society received two awards from the UCL Student Union - Best New Society and Cultural Society Impact Awards! Its President, Anton Korchagin studies History, Politics and Economics at SSEES and he was the one who founded the UCL Ukrainian Society in November 2021.
