Obituary: Dr Mateusz Zatoński (1987-2022), SSEES Alumnus

We were saddened to hear of the passing of Dr Mateusz Zatoński who passed away from a very rare cancer on 17 January 2022 in London.

Even though Mateusz studied his MA in Russian, Central European, East European and Eurasian Studies at SSEES in 2011-12, he was a valued member of our wider-academic community. Many  of us remember his presence in the building and at our events when he was a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant in 2017-18. In 2019, he successfully passed his PhD in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and then he joined the University of Bath as a Research Fellow.
