ESRC Studentship Winner

27 April 2021

Paul Fisher

Congratulations to Paul Fisher, MPhil candidate, who has won an Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) Studentship commencing on 1 October 2021. This award was offered by the UCL, Bloomsbury and East London ("UBEL") ESRC Doctoral Training Partnership through an open competition commenced earlier this year. It brings together five leading Social Science institutions: UCL, SOAS, LSHTM, Birkbeck and UEL. One of the largest ESRC-funded Doctoral Training Partnerships in the UK, the UBEL DTP funds over 40 interdisciplinary and cross-institutional postgraduate studentships a year across the social sciences and economics. Paul's research focusses upon the use of constitutional amendment in non-democracies as a response to threats to the longevity of authoritarian leadership. His research interests largely revolve around the constitutional politics of non- democracies, particularly within the post-Soviet space.
