Celebrating Georgian Literature

31 May 2019

Georgian literature

UCL SSEES Library has received a donation of around 80 Georgian books! This expanded collection has been moved to the lower ground floor in the Library with a classmark GEO. This special occasion was celebrated with a glass of Georgian wine and Georgian snacks after short speeches from UCL SSEES Director, Professor Diane P. Koenker and Ambassador of Georgia to the UK, Her Excellency Tamar Beruchashvili. Keti Kalandadze and Marine Tigishvili, Georgian language teachers at SSEES, talked about the Georgian alphabet, which was recently added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
