“Hello! I am an undergraduate student studying Politics, Sociology and Eastern European Studies and am currently in my first term here in London at UCL. I choose to study this course because it is unique in the fact that it allows me to combine my interests in the studies of Politics with Sociology whilst specialising in the Eastern European area. I absolutely love this course and find the lectures and readings very interesting and relevant to contemporary society. For instance, I am taking ‘Introduction to International relations’ as a module during this term which I am finding particularly enjoyable, with the view to take European Security modules later on in this course.
Due to the current global pandemic, a lot of my lectures and tutorials are online, (although I do have 1 face-to-face tutorial which is particularly enjoyable). Nevertheless, the systems that UCL has put in place, along with the support networks and very helpful tutors and course lecturers, I have found online learning very enjoyable and have been able to be independent in my studies whilst having the ability to communicate any queries to my tutors. I have benefitted from both the asynchronous and synchronous learning techniques that UCL has employed and overall, I have had a positive experience of online learning from UCL so far.
