Mirela Xhaferraj

Mirela started teaching Albanian at SSEES in 2017.

After finishing her BA in Greek language and literature at "Eqrem Çabej" University in Albania (1999), she completed a Post – graduated studies Programme in Greek Language and Civilization at the University of Patras, Greece (2000).  She gained a Master degree (2005) and a PhD degree (2012), both comparative studies regarding Albanian and Greek language, from the University of Tirana, Albania, where she was also a Lecturer in the Faculty of Foreign Languages till 2016.

She also teaches Albanian and Greek to British Diplomats in the FCDO and to public and private sector learners.

Mirela is particularly interested in Albanian and Greek language, literature and culture. She has published a number of articles in scientific journals and has made several presentations in scientific conferences regarding Greek and Albanian language.

Mirela is interested in translation as well, she has translated from Greek to Albanian the novels Cigarja e fundit (To teleutaio tsigaro), by Lena Manta (2017), and Kapelat prej kashte (Ta psathina kapela), by Margarita Liberaki (2020) published by the publishing house “Toena” in Albania.
