Maja Rančigaj Beneš

Slovene Lector

I have been teaching Slovene at SSEES UCL since 2014. I teach Slovene language BA and MA modules as well as a Slovene culture and literature module at the BA level and Slovene evening courses at all levels.

I received my MA degree in Slovene Language and Literature and Czech Language and Literature at the University of Ljubljana. During my studies, I spent one semester at the Masaryk University in Brno and one semester at the Charles University in Prague. Before coming to the UK, I taught Slovene language and literature to high school students in Celje, Slovenia and Klagenfurt, Austria as well to recent immigrants in Žalec, Slovenia. From 2014 until 2018, I also taught Slovene modules at the University of Nottingham. I periodically teach at the summer Seminar of Slovene Language, Literature and Culture held by the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
