I have been teaching Slovene at SSEES UCL since 2014. I teach Slovene language BA and MA modules as well as a Slovene culture and literature module at the BA level and Slovene evening courses at all levels.
I received my MA degree in Slovene Language and Literature and Czech Language and Literature at the University of Ljubljana. During my studies, I spent one semester at the Masaryk University in Brno and one semester at the Charles University in Prague. Before coming to the UK, I taught Slovene language and literature to high school students in Celje, Slovenia and Klagenfurt, Austria as well to recent immigrants in Žalec, Slovenia. From 2014 until 2018, I also taught Slovene modules at the University of Nottingham. I periodically teach at the summer Seminar of Slovene Language, Literature and Culture held by the Centre for Slovene as a Second and Foreign Language of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana.
Mrs Maja Rančigaj Beneš is currently on maternity leave and covered by Mrs Tjaša Alič. For anything connected to Slovene teaching or the Slovene lectureship at SSEES, please contact Tjaša.
