Frank Carter Memorial Prize (£300)

Founded in memory of Frank Carter, former Professor of the Geography of Eastern Europe at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies from 1966 to 2001.

1. A prize known as the Frank Carter Memorial Prize may be awarded in each session in the School of Slavonic and East European Studies.

2. The prize is awarded by the Frank Carter Postgraduate Prize Fund on the recommendation of the School.

3. The prize is awarded to a final-year MA or MRes student for the best dissertation using original sources in a foreign language.

4. The total value of the prize is £300. Where two equally qualified candidates are identified, an additional prize (the SSEES Alumni Prize (PG)) may be awarded by the School.

5. The Award shall be announced in the summer after all assessment has been concluded.

6. The College reserves the right to vary these regulations should it become necessary to do so in order to ensure the continued use of the resources of the fund.

7. Awards are subject to the provision of the General Regulations.
