This conference provides a platform to discuss the often-overlooked theme of political engagement among older adults worldwide. The interdisciplinary event aims to shed light on the representations, experiences, and outcomes of political participation in later life in different countries and localities. We seek to expand the theoretical understanding, and the empirical and methodological exploration of political participation in later life.
Keynote lecture: ‘Why is the political participation of older adults a niche field of research?’ Prof. Lynne Segal, Anniversary Professor Emerita of Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck, University of London
Organisers: Anna Shadrina and Olga Doletskaya, UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies. The conference is supported by the Leverhulme Trust.
