UCL School of Slavonic and East European Studies, the Ostrogorski Centre and the Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum organise the 9th Annual ‘Belarusian Studies in the 21st Century’ Conference.

The conference serves as a multidisciplinary forum for Belarusian studies in the West and offers a rare networking opportunity for researchers of Belarus.

The conference will take place on 26–27 April 2024 in the hybrid format. The Annual London Lecture on Belarusian Studies will follow the main conference panels. Those attending in person can attend a reception at UCL and a tour of the Francis Skaryna Belarusian Library and Museum Church of St Cyril of Turau & All the Patron Saints of the Belarusian People.

Selected papers will be peer-reviewed and published in the Journal of Belarusian Studies in 2024.

The organising committee includes Prof Yarik Kryvoi (co-chair), Prof Andrew Wilson (co-chair), Dr Alena Marková, Peter Braga, and Dr Karalina Matskievich.

Conference partners: the Journal of Belarusian Studies, British Association of Slavonic and Eastern European Studies (BASEES), Anglo-Belarusian Society.
