On September 6, 2022, the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, visited Bosnia and Herzegovina. BiH and Turkey's relations are particularly close on the political and economic levels.
R. T. Erdoğan also visited Sarajevo at the time of the West's diplomatic offensive against the instability in Bosnia and Herzegovina, exacerbated by the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and just before the general elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
