In the first guest speaker slot of the academic year, Dr Alicja Curanović – Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw – will present her research on contemporary messianism and Russia’s foreign policy. Among other questions, Dr Curanović will ask what contemporary messianism is in today's politics, whether a messianic narrative still has religious connotations, and whether talking about mission in foreign policy is chiefly an expression of identity or an instrument.
