The last two years have seen a spotlight trained on the Russian government’s cyber-attack capability. From Fancy Bear hacking the Democratic National Committee in the US, to NotPetya crashing systems in the Ukraine (and Russia) and alleged influence operations on electoral processes across Europe and the US, the threats are unpredictable, dangerous and disputed.
But just how real is the Russian cybersecurity threat? Is cyber-war just around the corner, or have Russian cyber-strategies become predictable and containable?
Julien Nocetti, Research Fellow at the Russia/NIS center of IFRI (French Institute of International Relations), with a focus on cybersecurity and Internet governance.
Raphael Satter, a journalist for The Associated Press who covers cyber security.
Geoff White, an investigative journalist, creator of “The Dark Web” Audible series and of the podcast “Cybercrime Investigations”.
This event is part of the Post-Soviet Press Group series and the Russian Studies Seminar Series and is therefore open to all, but registration is essential via Eventbrite
