In our annual CCSEE SSEES  transition report launch event, we will welcome Cevat Giray Aksoy, Principal Economist in the Office of the Chief Economist, and Peter Sanfey, Deputy Director for Country Economics and Policy within the Department of Economics, Policy and Governance, from the EBRD, who will present key points of the 2018 EBRD Transition report., who will present key points of the 2018 EBRD Transition report. Closely focusing on current anxieties around the workings of capitalism, the report is exploring geographical polarisation, in terms of density of population but also demand for skills. Key issues discussed will include technological change and deindustralisation, movement of workers and ideas, and their broader impacts on communities.

These issues will be further discussed by three academic experts. Marco Vivarelli (Professor of Economics at the Universita Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in Milano) Riccardo Crescenzi (Professor of Economic Georgraphy at the LSE) and Igor Yegorov (Professor at the Faculty of Economics at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) will all bring their disciplinary and regional expertise to discuss the findings of the report.

Lunch will be provided after the discussion.

This event is free and open to all, but you must register to attend via Eventbrite.
