Nuclear Safeguards for NMICs training course

This eLearning is designed for Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinators (NMICs) who manage nuclear safeguards material (material containing uranium, thorium or plutonium) at UCL.

Course description


The Nuclear Safeguards (EU Exit) Regulations require UCL to maintain an inventory of nuclear materials and have strict procedures in place for keeping track of them. By completing this eLearning course you will learn what this means for the Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator (NMIC).

Prerequisites

You must have successfully completed the eLearning course Nuclear Safeguards for Users before undertaking this course.

Objectives


On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Describe the role and responsibilities of a Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator.
  • Locate the relevant UCL procedures for working with nuclear materials at UCL.
  • Carry out monthly checks and complete the reporting template.
  • Submit a disposal request.

Target audience


This course is for staff appointed as a Nuclear Materials Inventory Co-ordinator (NMIC) or who are looking to be appointed.

Cost


Training courses are free to UCL staff.
