Principles of risk assessment training
This eLearning course will provide staff and students who are responsible for conducting risk assessments with an overview of the underlying principles of risk assessment.
Course description
Risk assessment is an important step in protecting people in our workplace from harm. In doing this we are complying with the law and more importantly we are ensuring that the likelihood of causing harm is minimised.
This eLearning course will provide you with an overview of the underlying principles of risk assessment.
All safety instructor-led training courses are delivered by our team of safety experts.
Objectives
This course will provide basic knowledge about:
- The identification of hazards
- Deciding who might be affected
- Evaluating the risks and deciding on precautions
- Recording the findings and implementing them
- Reviewing the assessment and making changes if necessary
Target audience
Staff and students who are responsible for conducting risk assessments
Cost
Training courses are free to UCL staff however your Department will be charged £50 if you fail to attend when booked on a course. Non-attendance at first aid courses will incur a higher non-attendance fee.

Places to external delegates are only offered if there is spare capacity on an instructor-led course.
