Announcing the launch of our new Liquid Nitrogen in the Workplace training

28 November 2022

Liquid Nitrogen is one of the cryogenic liquids commonly used in research labs. It is inert, colourless, odourless, noncorrosive, nonflammable and it has several hazards associated with it. You must undertake training before using Liquid Nitrogen.

Liquid Nitrogen is a cryogenic liquid and is an extremely cold material. It is liquefied under high-pressure conditions and can expand to a very large volume of gas. Our new eLearning course provides information about safe working practices when handling, storing and decanting Liquid Nitrogen.

Liquid Nitrogen in the Workplace training

Before using Liquid Nitrogen, the Liquid Nitrogen in the Workplace training course must be completed and it is ideal for anybody who is new to handling Liquid Nitrogen.

The course will take you through the following:

  • What is Liquid Nitrogen.
  • How Liquid Nitrogen is safely managed and handled.
  • The types of hazards and risks associated with Liquid Nitrogen.
  • Cryogenic vessels and how they are managed, stored and decanted.
  • Safe and appropriate storage of samples.
