Decadal Variability of Precipitation in Oman and the Assessment of Cloud Seeding in the Al-Hajar Mountains

Management of groundwater resources is one of the critical topics in light with the high tendency of climate change and high droughts risks in arid and semi-arid regions in the coming decades. Therefore, precipitation enhancement technique through cloud seeding has been widely implemented in many countries to meet the decrease in natural rainfall. Taking advantage of the Al-Hajar mountains between Oman and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the project of cloud seeding was implemented by the UAE and Oman since 2003 and 2013 respectively.

This research aims to Study the decadal climate variability of precipitation in order to assess the feasibility of a cloud seeding project over the Al-Hajar mountains in Oman.
