A one-day Masterclass in International Development on Delivering a Schools' Programme, led by the University of Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir, India) and UCL. The masterclass covers:
1) Linking up with schools and working with local partners in ODA countries
2) Planning and logistics
3) Assembling course material
4) Network building and promotion
5) Risk management and ethics
Seminars on Building Resilience in the Himalaya will follow covering: 1) Community-based resilience; 2) Safer schools in the community; 3) Schools' education programme on disasters and hazards.
Presenters
Presenters are experts and practitioners from the University of Jammu and the UCL Institute for Risk and Disaster Reduction and Department of Earth Sciences. They have put on schools programmes in Asia, Africa and South American on risk and resilience, natural hazards and climate change delivering education to thousands of school students from diverse backgrounds in challenging environments.
