Silk Cities
Silk Cities is an exciting and collaborative new initiative. It is an independent contextual online platform which connects dispersed existing knowledge and ideas about the quality of the built environment in the Middle East and Central Asia. The initial thematic concerns are reconstruction and disaster risk reduction, urban design and planning, and addressing urban historical identity, as well as local initiatives.
We aim to bridge the gap between generations and theory and practice, and to make an impact on the quality of the built environment through stimulating urban debates and ideas.
Silk Cities is an ongoing project. With the help of its community a number of events will be introduced.
Following the recent launch of the platform we are looking for enthusiastic volunteers with skills and creative ideas for the project development.

Paradigm Risk
Paradigm Risk Consulting is a boutique consulting firm based in London that specialises in governance and management of risk across sectors. We offer thought-based, practical advice on how organisations can deal effectively with risk and uncertainty in their markets, contexts and business environments - risk governance, analysis and behaviour for financial institutions, corporate businesses and the public sector. We also advise at board level on how to deal more effectively with the relationship between strategy and uncertainty and what that means for how businesses and other entities organise themselves and manage their people; an awareness of behaviour is key. Our leaders are recognised as serious thinkers and experts in their fields, which cover the spread of corporate issues in risk and management of risk and uncertainty.
We are a multi-disciplinary firm that combines excellence in analysis with penetrative insight in to the role of behaviour in the management of risk in the real world.
We are realistic about what works and what does not and we have the practical experience to judge. We won't waste your time with trendy, unproved ideas.
We are unapologetically a knowledge-based firm. Our advice is backed by extensive and on-going research and leading knowledge on risk and risk management in a firm setting.
We 'speak truth to power' so that you know that we will always give you an objective and informed opinion.
We are seeking talented, diligent people who can interact with clients at a senior level and who are prepared to think a little differently - we don't waste clients' time by telling them what they already know. Nor do we satisfy ourselves with 'received wisdom'; we seek fresh ideas that are practically focused and operable - a hard ask.
