UCL Food, Metabolism and Society Research Domain member Professor Georgina Mace is working on the Sustainable and Healthy Food Systems (SHEFS) research project as part of the Wellcome Trust's Global food systems and health focus. The project is led by Professor Alan Dangour, London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, UK.

The SHEFS programme aims to map and quantify interactions around food systems, from farm production to the food environments influencing consumer choice, through case studies in India and South Africa, and provide policy makers with novel and interdisciplinary research-based evidence.

The project will also focus on how to best engage with decision makers and other stakeholders, to co-develop policies for sustainable and healthy diets for all.
