Celebrating children’s progress in Reading Recovery Summer 2023

During the summer term, Reading Recovery professionals reviewed and celebrated the progress of children who have received additional support through Reading Recovery this year.

Reading Recovery progress is indicated in children’s reading and writing outcomes and also through the voices of children who have experienced the benefits of access to individualised literacy support and also the voices of their parents and teachers. 
As a network, we are also  celebrating the growth of teacher professional learning through Reading Recovery through the graduation of newly trained teachers and the strengthening of implementations of Reading Recovery in Europe.

Thanks to all those who contributed to this celebration of improved life chances through early intervention in literacy difficulties.

RRE success

In the last 32 years Reading Recovery Europe has helped 220,342 children who were non readers to succeed in literacy.  

17 out of 20 children who complete Reading Recovery catch up with their classmates within 20 weeks.  This level of success, evidence based, has been consistent for over 30 years.

  • 234 teacher leaders trained to provide professional development and support for RR teachers
