Yasmin Elsouda is a researcher and community organizer who is interested in building community power in London. She is part of the Palestinian Youth Movement, an independent, grassroots, transnational base-building movement of Arab youth in exile. She has been in and has led multiple student campaigns around BDS and challenging militarism and surveillance on campus. This also involved various attempts of connecting Palestinian and other invested youth around Britain both as a student activist and during her time as co-president of the SOAS Student’s Union (2020-21) in partnership with organizations such as Campaign Against the Arms Trade, Abolish Prevent and Palestine Solidarity campaign. 

Yasmin’s research is concerned with nationalism, violence and identity formation especially in the Palestinian context and the political economy of Gulf states.
