Training for local sites

Once qualified psychologists and Admiral Nurses have attended the START training events, we would like them to go back to their local services and train and supervise junior staff in delivering the START intervention.

Here we provide all the necessary documents in order to be able to train other staff members. We suggest delivering these four sessions over two days (not necessarily consecutive) however we understand that may not be possible for all so this can be condensed into a shorter time frame when necessary.

Session 1: Understanding dementia

This training session provides an overview of dementia and what interventions there are for people with dementia and their families.
