Describe the UCL Summer School in three words: Fantastic, Charming, Challenging

Why did you choose the UCL Summer School?

UCL's status amongst the world's colleges and universities is unquestionable. At a very young age, I aspired to study at UCL. Therefore, with my childhood dream in mind, I attended the UCL Summer School. Joining the Summer School was not only a way to enhance my knowledge, but also a way to broaden my horizons.

Tell us a bit about the module you took – what have been the highlights?

I attended the Strategic Management and Leadership module where I learnt a lot about leadership types and strategic management. In just three weeks, I realised that life is like a company, that achieving your goals in life is part of strategic management, and that learning to manage yourself is the first step to managing the world.

What is the style of teaching like at UCL?

The teaching style at UCL is very liberal, and we are free to express our views in class and get feedback from our teachers. I think it is very important to communicate and discuss with our teachers, which helps us understand the information better but also helps to share our views and ideas with our classmates.

What advice would you give to any students looking to apply next year?

My advice is to plan your studies and travelling well in advance before coming to London. Summer school is not only about learning new things, but also about experiencing the city. Good planning can make your summer school trip rich and exciting. Not only will you be able to see the sights you longed for as a child, but you will also be able to get a good grasp of what you have learnt in your course.
