Building works on campus
2026 will mark UCL’s Bicentenary, celebrating 200 years since UCL’s establishment as the first University in London.
As we look to the future, a number of buildings on our Bloomsbury campus are currently undergoing development and refurbishment. As a result, some areas including the iconic Portico and Wilkins Building will be inaccessible during the Open Days We’re sorry that this means for this year’s events, you won’t be able to visit and our main entrance on Gower Street will be closed. However with main works due to finish at the start of 2026, if you join UCL as a student in September 2026 you will be our first cohort of students to benefit from the remodelling of the Main Quad which will provide beautiful and accessible space for events, study, congregation and other student activities.
To learn more about UCL’s 200th anniversary and what this means for your academic journey, visit the UCL 200 website.
Can I bring a guest with me?
You are welcome to bring a guest. However, to ensure that as many students as possible can take part in our Open Days we are limiting the number of guests to one per prospective student.
Can I visit UCL in-person outside of Open Days?
If you are in London, you can visit the Bloomsbury campus for a guided tour. You can book a tour by visiting the Campus Tours page. To visit UCL East check out the Find us page.
