Professor Lauge Poulsen
Biography
Lauge Poulsen is Professor and Deputy Head of Department of Political Science at UCL. He works on the politics and law of international economic relations.
Since 2021, Poulsen has been Chair of OECD’s inter-governmental work programme on climate change and investment law. Previously, he served as specialist adviser to the International Trade Committee in the House of Commons and was advisor to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office from 2017 to 2020. In 2022, Poulsen was appointed OBE (Officer of the British Empire) for services to UK trade policy.
Before joining UCL, Poulsen was a postdoctoral fellow at Nuffield College, University of Oxford, and he has been a visiting scholar at the Economic Studies Division at the Brookings Institution and Melbourne Law School. He is on the editorial boards of Journal of International Economic Law, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, and World Trade Review.
Teaching
Professor Poulsen offers modules on Trade Policy and Climate Change and International Political Economy. He accepts PhD students in the areas of international economic relations and international law.
