Biography

Dr Herman has over a decade experience in climate and environmental policymaking representing a myriad of constituents including NGOs, multinational corporations, institutions such as the IFC, and start-up companies. His current research explores how multilateral environmental policies induce firms to innovate in climate and environmental technologies, especially the emerging field of “enabling” and “smart” technologies. He deploys econometric and language processing methods in this research and is particularly interested in how stringent domestic climate policies exhibit influence across other regions and countries.
