Careers Week: Careers in the law for non-lawyers

Interested in a career in the law but not sure how to get in without a law degree? Law firms hire 50% of their graduates from non-law degrees, but understanding the recruitment path and the skills and experience required is critical. In this session, Faculty of Laws Careers Consultant Stephen Gurman will explain how the recruitment process works, experience and skills required, what recruiters look for and how you can best position yourself to make an outstanding application.

Stephen Gurman is a careers consultant at UCL. Stephen is embedded with the Faculty of Laws and runs appointments and workshops for students registered to the LLB and LLM programmes. Stephen also has an interest in matters relating to international students and their job search in the UK.
