Social cognition

Research in this theme is aimed at explaining social psychological phenomena by investigating the cognitive processes that underlie them, specifically in interaction with affective and motivational processes. Experiments employ behavioural, cognitive, and physiological measures as well as brain imaging techniques to study the effects of social knowledge (e.g., goals, believes), social situations (e.g., power, status), and social stimuli (e.g., faces, social rewards).
