Solar Orbiter’s first images reveal ‘campfires’ on the Sun

The first images from Solar Orbiter, a Sun-observing mission which is carrying UCL-built instruments led by Dr David Long and Professor Chris Owen, and involving Professor Lucie Green (all UCL Mullard Space Science Laboratory), reveal omnipresent miniature solar flares.
