Smoke-Free UCL: consultation open
4 April 2019
UCL is proposing a new smoking policy under the rubric ‘Smoke-Free UCL’ and will be running a consultation from 4 April–7 May.
This policy has two key components:
- Extending the area in which smoking and use of e-cigarettes is not permitted to the whole of the UCL estate including all public spaces and outdoor spaces.
- Providing high quality information and support for staff and students at UCL who smoke to help them quit.
It is planned to implement Smoke-Free UCL from the start of the next academic year. We are now consulting the UCL community on the proposal so that it meets our needs and accords with our values.
More information, including FAQs and a link to the consultation documents, can be found on the UCL HR website.
