International Summer School for Undergraduates Launching in 2016

28 October 2015

2016 will see the launch of UCL's International Summer School for Undergraduates (ISSU).

summer schools ISSU will offer the opportunity for students to study for either three or six weeks and gain credit towards their degree programmes. Teaching will take place over two three-week blocks, running from 4 July to 12 August, with 36 modules on offer in 2016.

ISSU will be led by the Centre for Languages & International Education (CLIE) and modules will be taught by academics from across faculties. The International Office and the CLIE marketing team will combine recruitment for ISSU with existing recruitment activity worldwide.

All ISSU students will be offered accommodation at the designated residence which is Unite in St Pancras Way, and will benefit from a lively social programme with events ranging from musicals in London to day trips to Oxford, the Cotswolds and Stratford-upon-Avon.

ISSU is open to all undergraduates who meet the programme's academic and English language entry requirements and will have completed one year of undergraduate study by the time they enrol.  Applications for 2016 will open on 1 December 2015, and current UCL students are eligible for a 10% tuition discount.

Rhod Fiorini, Head of the International Summer School for Undergraduates, explains why ISSU hopes to welcome 600 students in its first year: "We've received a fantastic response from across the university and are very impressed by the wide and varied range of modules we'll be able to offer. Students will be able to live in the heart of London, complement their academic or personal interests, meet like-minded people from around the world, and have a summer to remember at UCL".
