Dhiaa Kareem Ali Janaby is a Lecturer at University of Kufa and Head of English Language Department. Dhiaa received a scholarship at The Institute of Arab and Islamic Studies (IAIS), University of Exeter. His work foceses on researching and exploring the heritage of the Mandaean community in Iraq, known as the followers of one of the oldest monotheistic religions. Through this research, Dhiaa aims to understand perceptions and representations of Mandaeans in a period of tumultuous change. After Dhiaa returned to Iraq, he held two webinars with guests from the Mandaean community in the diaspora. These videos can be found on our YouTube page:
Dhiaa's research paper titled "The Mandaeans in Iraq Today: Perceptions, Stereotypes, Prejudices, and Exclusion" is now published in the Journal of Babylon Center for Humanities Studies.
