Congratulations to Biomedical Engineering student, Andrea Ripa, who has just been awarded the Faculty of Engineering Sciences Medal and Prize for his undergraduate studies!

This prize is awarded annually to a graduating student judged to have achieved the best overall academic performance in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at UCL. It is an exceptional achievement and is the top academic award that UCL Engineering can make to an undergraduate student.

"The past four years at UCL have been incredible and filled with great memories. I am honoured to be receiving this prestigious award to conclude my journey at UCL before moving into my next chapter. All of this was possible thanks to the people around me, my family and friends supporting me in every way possible at every step of the way. Thank you again, UCL”

Andrea Ripa, MEng Biomedical Engineering

Andrea has had a fantastic academic record while studying with us; in his first year of study, he received the Instron Prize for Best Group Research Project, in 2021 he was awarded the John Clifton Award for Best Non-Finalist Undergraduate Student and in 2022, he received the Jackson Lewis Scholarship and was also on the Dean’s List for the top performing undergraduate students in the Department.

Many congratulations, Andrea, on this excellent achievement!
