BBC News reports on Broadband Near Infrared Spectroscopy (NIRS)
18 September 2018
Broadband Near Infrared Spectroscopy, a tool developed by researchers in the department and about to tested in clinical trials, has been featured in BBC News.
The device shines light into the brain to monitor oxygen and energy levels and helps doctors assess brain damage earlier, and tailor treatment accordingly.
Dr Gemma Bale, who worked on the NIRS instrument, was speaking about the technology at the British Science Festival in Hull.
