15 August 2018
Professor Clare Elwell, in her first week of a British Science Association Media Fellowship at the Financial Times, has co-authored a report on a new wearable brain scanner, developed by physicists and engineers at UCL with colleagues at the University of Nottingham.
The scanner uses sensors which are the size and weight of Lego bricks, enabling them to be incorporated into a bicycle helmet. Its potential applications range from investigation dementia to Parkinson's and future models will be adapted for use in babies.
