Odin Vision: a new era of artificial intelligence software for endoscopy

Meet the expert

Patrick Brandão, Doctoral Candidate, UCL CMIC

Patrick Brandao is an award-winning researcher who has pioneered the use of artificial intelligence in endoscopy and he is one of the original contributors to the 2015 MICCAI polyp detection challenge. His background is in deep learning with computer vision and its translation into clinical practice. Prior to joining Odin, Patrick was undertaking a PhD at Wellcome Trust and EPSRC Centre for Surgical Sciences, University College London where he collaborated with clinicians to develop polyp detection systems. This research was spun out of the university and led to the founding of Odin Vision. Patrick is experienced in leading research and collaborations including grant funded project from InnovateUK, the European Space Agency and EU Horizon 2020. Patrick holds a PhD from University College London on AI in Endoscopic. His work has been published in the world’s leading clinical and technical journals.
