Abstract: Earlier this year I spent 3 months on a RCUK policy internship working at the Parliamentary Office of Science and Tech (POST) in Westminster. I'm going to speak about the work I did, the interface between science and policymaking, and the internship scheme itself.

Title: Building a new data service for Parliament - my job as a Data Analyst

Abstract: I've recently joined the Parliamentary Digital Service (PDS) as a Data Analyst. I work within the Data and Search team, which is responsible for building a data service for the new website for the Parliament (beta.parliament.uk). 

I am going to give a brief introduction of the work being developed in PDS, show some examples of the projects I've been involved and how I'm applying the skills I developed during my PhD to a completely different subject!
