About the event

UCL Mechanical Engineering is pleased to invite you to the triumphant return of our acclaimed live show “MechEng Night: Revolutions”, taking place on the stage of UCL’s Bloomsbury Theatre on Wednesday 2 November.

Expect an entertaining and enlightening show, with a unique combination of engaging and accessible presentations of world-leading research – plus a sprinkling of “showbiz magic” and stellar science-based comedy.

Hosted by leading science communicators and academics Dr Helen Czerski and Professor Mark Miodownik, the packed 90-minute show will touch on subjects as diverse as the “2000 year-old computer”, a stunning breakthrough in fusion energy, the future of automated vehicles and much more. We are also delighted to be hosting a special guest performance by stand-up mathematician and bestselling author Matt Parker.

“MechEng Night: Revolutions” promises to be a truly memorable occasion and marks a major highlight of the department’s 175th anniversary celebration.

Doors will open from 5:30pm for the 6:30pm show, followed by a drinks reception and exhibition.“Revolutions” will not be televised, streamed or “zoomed” – the show will be live!
