UCL CDT Students win Best Workshop Paper prize at IEEE ANLP 2019

A group including students from the UCL CDT in Data Intensive Science have been awarded 'Best Workshop Paper' at the IEEE combined IOTSTS and SNAMS Conference 2019

Best Paper Award - won by UCL CDT DIS team

This October, The sixth IEEE International Conference on Internet of Things: Systems, Management and Security (IOTSMS 2019) and The Sixth IEEE International Conference on Social Networks Analysis, Management and Security (SNAMS-2019) held their conferences as a co-located event in Granada, Spain.

Amongst the various workshops and papers were a group including staff and students from the UCL CDT in Data Intensive Science. This project, working alongside fashion company ASOS, presented a paper entitled "Where Is My Parcel" Fast and Efficient Classifiers to Detect User Intent in Natural Language, and this paper has received the award for 'Best Paper' at the event.

The team, consisting of UCL CDT Students Constantina Nicolaou and Amal Vaidya, UCL Academics Dr David Wardrope and Prof Nikos Konstantinidis, and Dr Fabon Dzogang of ASOS, presented their paper as part of the 'Advances in Natural Language Processing' section of the event.
