In a visit arranged by UCL Mullard Space Science lab, the head of NASA, Charles Bolden, visited UCL Academy today.
Bolden, who has served as NASA's most senior official since 2009, is a former Space Shuttle commander with four missions to his name.
He entertained students for around an hour with stories of his time in space, and answered countless questions from his audience.
Bolden is visiting Europe for high-level meetings with British and Italian space officials.
