IDRiM was founded in 2009 as a joint venture of Japanese, Chinese and Austrian scientists working in the disasters field and now has a broad international membership and its own journal. It seeks to promote the integrated, interdisciplinary study of disasters from a practical point of view.
"Around the World in
80 Disasters: Global Trends, Local Challenges," David Alexander's inaugural lecture as Professor of Risk and Disaster Reduction will take place at UCL on 7 October, at 5pm. More information on the lecture, which is free and open to the public, here.
