MAPS Education Seminar: Bridging the gap between Teaching and Learning

At the same time, these rapid changes have crucially brought a renewed attention to the problem of existing gaps between teaching and learning, disparities in awarding gaps, and the need to provide more authentic and inclusive teaching and learning practices. In this talk I will explain the important role of developing discipline-based education research (DBER) to support this transformation, and I will give examples of how DBER can not only advance new knowledge in STEM education, but also help bridge the teaching and learning gap most effectively.
