Change in loan limit for UCL staff

31 August 2016

We're making a change to the loan limit of items for our UCL staff users.

We regularly review our library service provision to staff, students and external visitors. One aspect of the service which was reviewed via a benchmarking exercise during the latter part of last year was the loan allowance for all library users. Library Committee agreed in December 2015 that the loan limit for staff at UCL will be set at 40 items from 1 September 2016. This change maintains a generous limit for staff, whilst balancing this against the need to manage the Library's print stock and ensure that it is available for users at the point of need. We have been individually contacting staff who currently have more than 40 items on loan and will be agreeing specific arrangements with them.

You can use our website to find out more about the full range of collections, services and facilities which you have access to as a member of staff at UCL. Explore is UCL Library Services' search tool for finding journals, books, full-text articles, archive material and much more. Whether you're looking for items on your reading list or information for a project or research, you'll find it in Explore and you get instant access to any full-text we subscribe to.
